Hi All,
Here's a heads up for a TV show Monday night (16/10/006).
'Suez' on BBC2 at 9.00PM.

For those who wish to know, the so called 'Suez Crisis' was the last time in our history that the British decided to work for British self interest without getting permission from America first.
The upshot was that America not only didn't back us, but did everything in it's power (short of direct military action) to support the other side.
I wonder with the benefit of hindsight whether that was wise?
Anthony Eden has been made a villain ever since, but I wonder would the World be a better place today had he succeeded?
We'll see what slant the media wallahs put on it tomorrow night.
Andy

Another conflict I know sod all about and think I should. There's been a new book out recently with good reviews that I might purchase.

1956 was a very important year...to me especially...

I should ask my dad what he was doing around that time, I have a feeling he was in the area...
