As I read in a blog that a Swedish buyer has signed for a FW190 to be flying in 2011 (Great news!), I went to the Flug Werk website and came across this:
Quote:
Flug Werk plant zukünftig, für den Betrieb in Deutschland, eine FW 190 D9/N herzustellen, damit auch die Fans der 190-Langnase zufrieden gestellt werden können.
...
Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
Ihr Claus Colling

Does anyone know more about this?

Yes, I know... Do a Google search before asking stupid questions. So, I did. Apparently old news, but still...

What I came up with was that between 1 to 3 D9's has been built/will be built. The first one (only one?) was displayed in february 2007, powered by a V-1710 Allison. I have also found a couple of pictures, but none of a Dora in the air.
Has it flown?
How many were actually built?
Where are they today?
Etc...

20 kits have been constructed (17 short-noses + 3 long-noses).

The 1st long nose has been constructed for US collector Tom Blair of Kissimmee, FL. The aircraft is still with Stallion 51 and has not flown yet. It is powered with an Allison engine and currently registered with the FAA as N623TB and ID "210 111":
http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNum_Results.aspx?NNumbertxt=623TB

The 2nd long nose (WNr.990006) is currently under construction with the Vormezeele family of Brasschaat, Belgium. Plans are to fly it with an original JUMO engine. Parts of Focke Wulf Fw190D-9 wk.nr.210102 will be incorporated and will be most probably the identity adopted when flown.
The project was traded with Fi 156 2042 D-EVDB now flying in Germany with Dirk Bende. Infos available here (page 41): http://www.classicwings.com/issues/Classic_Wings_Sample.pdf

The 3rd example is still with Flug Werk and for sale. It is/was registered as D-FWSC and the WNr. is 990003.

Hope that helps a little bit.

There is some talk that the Blair short nose is going to a Swiss customer-I wonder if that has been confused and is actually bound for Sweden.

Now Tom Blair's 190 has moved on to pastures new, l started looking into Flug Werk and was amazed that there was a run of 20 kits !
i have found information on some but if all were supplied as kits,
this i think is right - i have seven in Germany, (two supplied to museums ?) one each in France & Belgium, three (poss. four in the States) and the rest......................

Thank you all for the info.

The Vormezeele Dora with an original Junkers engine would really be something!

Blair's 190A9 is delivered to Meier-Motors in Bremgarten. Looks like they have 3 Fw190 in the hangar now!

Hmm. I have a pic of the one with checkered cowling, and another without painting ,and not assembled. I guess they haven't strippet the paint of Mr. Blairs FW190?

They already have stripped the paint, no time is lose! I must admit I was quiet confused too but I confirm there is 2 FW 190's.

Oki!. Will be interesting to see how it will look next time.
Rumors tell that some Norwegians is also interested in buying one.
Maybe it will be in the colours of the JG5 Eismeer FW's Smile

What about Paul Allen's genuine 190, has that one flown yet?

From what I have heard, the buyer will not be Biltema: http://biltema.no/sponsor/airshow/index.htm
The swedish FW buyers/owners are still unknown (to me at least...)
